I am an outgoing, fun-loving person with a passion for young children. I am the assistant manager of our Brooke location and I work in the Preschool and Out of School care programs.
A little bit about me
I was born in Vancouver but mainly raised in North Delta with my younger brother, David. After I graduated high school I moved back to the big city to be with my future husband, Quinn. I moved back to North Delta after I had my children because I knew North Delta was a wonderful place to raise a family. I have two daughters, Ava and Abbie, who are my heart and soul. In my spare time my younger daughter and I enjoy watching my oldest daughter play soccer. When it is not soccer season she goes to her parkour classes with her uncle while her sister and I play games and hang out together. My wonderful husband, works as a steel fabricator in Surrey, and together we like to go to movies and get together with our friends and family.
Me and Childcare
Before I had my children I had a worked at a few different coffee shops downtown for many years. Even though I could make one mean latte with the fancy art on top, I knew that there was something else in the cards for me; I just didn’t know what yet! Then, I had my first daughter and I immediately knew that I NEEDED to work with children, not just to make a difference in my daughter’s life, but in the lives of as many children as I could. I always knew I was going to have a career working with people, I just didn’t know it would be working with little people. I got my Early Childhood Education certificate in 2009 after I graduated as the valedictorian from Vancouver Career College. I worked at a couple different preschools but something didn’t seem right until I started working at Bright Eyes Academy at the beginning of 2012. I love the Reggio Amelia approach to learning that our centre follows because it lets the children be curious and explore the things that they are interested in rather than the things adults think they should know.
Because of the Reggio approach to learning; every day is a new day and every day is different. I wake up excited to see what my day at work is going to bring me and what height the children will reach. I look forward to working with your children.
