I love the way children look at the world.  I teach at the Bright Eyes Academy Memorial Park location preschool and out of school care program.

A little bit about me

I have lived in South Delta since 2002.  I live with my husband, son and daughter. We often have a third child in our home, as we are part of the International Student Homestay program.  We have a dog, cat, two hamsters and a frog.

In the evenings you can find me at the theatre, either watching a production or on the stage itself.  I love to act and direct and sometimes do voice-over work for gaming companies.

Me and Childcare

Way back in high school I decided I wanted to be a teacher.  I went to UBC to study music and teaching.  However, after realizing that teaching music was not my thing, and that teaching young children was, I left UBC and enrolled in the ECE program at Langara.  I graduated top of my class and went on to work for some very good centres in Vancouver.  This was back in 1995.

I have done it all… preschool, day care, infant/toddler, family care and a one-on-one special needs teacher.  Working for Bright Eyes allows me to use my experience and utilize it to its fullest.  The Reggio Approach will bring new experiences for me and the children each year.  The world and its people are always changing and so will our program.  As we listen to each other, we will be able to research and communicate our interests.  I love this about Reggio.

Conclusion
I believe that each child has enormous potential and curiosity.  I can’t wait to explore the world each year with each new set of children who attends Bright Eyes.
