I am fun, kind-hearted, and young at heart. I work at Holly in the 3-5 program. I am a certified Early Childhood Educator. I received my education with Delta Continuing Ed.
A little bit about me
I have been a resident of North Delta all my life. I have always enjoyed Delta. It is beautiful, peaceful and green. From a family of 5, I am the middle sister. I have an older brother who is married and lives in Kelowna and a younger brother who is married and lives in Vancouver. My family is very important to me that is why I didn’t move far from home. My sweetheart and I bought a town house just up the street from my mom and dad. I also have an adorable little dog named Toby. He reminds me everyday how valuable nap times is. Ever since I can remember my mom has always watched the neighborhood children. I would get up in the morning for school and share my breakfast table with them. After school, someone would always be waiting for me at the window, ready to play as I walked through the door. Being around young children all my life has always been a joy.
My interests include: crafting (of all sorts), camping, gaming, walks through the water shed and burns bog and watching cartoons! I guess you could say my interests and my lifestyle are what keep me young at heart.
Me and Childcare
You ever get the feeling that this is your chosen path? That this is what you were meant to do? When my mom brought me the idea about taking the ECE course, the light blub came on. At the time I was bartending and felt like I just existed. My job didn’t feel rewarding. The moment I stepped into a classroom full of children my world changed. Rediscovering the world through a child eyes is such a neat thing to be a part of. Everyday there is something new to explore or a funny moment just waiting to happen. I love getting all the children together and starting a great imaginative adventures through the play ground. Searching for dinosaur eggs and fossils is the recent game they enjoy to play. Circle time is my favorite time of the day I enjoy singing children’s songs, telling stories, playing games, providing them with exciting facts and watching their expressions as they absorb all the neat stuff we teach them. There is nothing more rewarding then watching the children play ‘teacher’ and recite the songs and stories you just shared with them.
I truly want to be a positive influence for children and make a difference in their lives. By choosing to work with children under the age of 5, I have an opportunity to help encourage their development and sense of how the world works. My joy comes from watching them succeed!
