I am passionate, funny, and loyal. I aid in the preschool, kindercare, and out of school program at Neilson Grove. My qualifications include: R.A certification. I'm greatly considering getting my ECCE certification.

A little bit about me: I've lived in the lower mainland my entire life. I reside with my boyfriend of 6 years (Bruce), my girlfriend of 15 years (Jamie), and my dad! I have two younger brothers ages 18 (Jordy) and 11 (Jared). Prior to living in Cloverdale, I lived in Surrey in a tiny trailer with Jamie. It was disgusting but extremely entertaining! I love travelling, being around friends/family, reading, and playing volleyball. I am fairly new to the childcare field, and have been loving almost every minute of it!

Me and Childcare: My field of interest has changed many times over the years, but I've never strayed from working with children. Working at Neilson Grove has allowed me to work with children from age three, all the way up to twelve years old. I am completely thankful for the diversity for the reason that there is never a dull moment! The children I've met here posses brilliant imaginations, and the most entertaining conversations! My favourite thing to do is to take everyone outside and play some kind of game. It's amazing how fast they band together as a team to achieve a similar goal, as well as how much they open up to you when they are having a blast.

The Reggio philosophy facilitates enjoyable learning. It allows the children to feel comfortable enough so that they push themselves to accomplish great things- as individuals, in addition to as peers. I've seen first hand the children working on separate projects, yet coming together to help a friend in need. The Reggio approach gives these children the freedom to learn at their own pace. In return they absorb so much by asking the questions they want to ask and working on tasks that allow them to venture into their own minds, thereby learning more about themselves/the world around them.

Conclusion: I'm very excited to be working at Bright Eyes because of the amazing team and wonderful children. Children learn through everything they hear, touch and see and I'm proud to be part of an environment where they are able to exactly that at their own individual speed.
