Kindercare (5 years)

Our Kindercare program operates 5 days a week with 2 different time options. The full day Kindercare program runs from Kindergarten dismissal at 11:25am up until 6:00pm when the centre closes. The half day Kindercare program runs from Kindergarten dismissal at 11:25am until the school aged children arrive at 3:00pm. We also offer kindergarten pick ups from a variety of local schools. Both the full day and half day Kindercare programs are set up to build on the skills that the children are learning in Kindergarten by practicing writing in journals as well as learning basic spelling and math skills.

Our Kindercare program also follows the Reggio Emilia approach, in addition to building on skills and topics the children are learning in Kindergarten, we expand on topics the children are interested in outside of Kindergarten. We encourage community involvement by providing out of classroom experiences to help further expand and explore our topic of study. In the classroom throughout the afternoon there is a large variety of open ended art supplies and materials available to the children to explore and create with, as well as, a period of time is left open for free choice play, as we feel that there is much to be learned through free play. In this program we foster a sense of compassion and understanding, as well as respect, both for ourselves and for our peers.
